CANTAM participation in 2nd International Conference on Public Health in Africa, 13-15 December 2022, Kigali, Rwanda


CPHIA 2022, which took place from 13 to 15 December 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda, provided a unique platform for researchers, policy makers and stakeholders from Africa to meet and share their views and research findings in public health, while ushering in a new era of enhanced scientific collaboration and innovation on the continent.

CANTAM participated in this strategic public health event in Africa.

During this conference, one of our fellows, Mr BAÏNA Marcel Tapsou, PhD student at the Université Marien Ngouabi in the Republic of Congo and trainee at Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Médicale (FCRM) Presented a poster of his study results on "the molecular marker profile of resistance to Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine in Plasmodium falciparum isolates south of Brazzaville".



Marcel also established contacts with his counterparts from other countries with a view to setting up a network of young researchers on malaria in Africa.

In addition, Prof Francine NTOUMI, CANTAM coordinator was one of the presenters at the breakfast presentation of the new research platform on preparedness and response in Africa, PANTHER (PANdemic preparedness plaTform for Health and Emerging infections' Response)
