As part of its phase 3 training plan, CANTAM organized from 15 to 16 September 2022 in Yaoundé, Cameroon a training workshop on Using Biostatistics as a tool in Epidemiological research and in handling micro-organisms.
These three days workshop which brought together participants from Cameroon, Congo, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo focused on statistical techniques to reduce bias in microbial testing, reducing errors in predicting microbial response to deliberate stress testing. During this workshop, participants were introduced to all biostatic concerns, from writing protocols like sampling and sample size to data collection, data cleaning, exploratory data analysis and to inferential statistics.
During the different sessions, facilitators focused on how to use the results of data analysis to answer research questions.
CANTAM remains committed to the implementation of its training plan and its mentorship program for researchers in Central Africa.
