The president of the Congolese Foundation for Medical Research made a working visit to Kinshasa in the Republic of Congo from 2 to 3 March 2023.

Invited by the University of Kinshasa, the President of the FCRM began her activities by meeting an eminent scientist, Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe (Virologist), director of the National Institute for Biomedical Research (INRB), who is known as one of the co-discoverers of the Ebola virus in 1976.

This was followed by an exchange on "Tools for the control and elimination of malaria" with teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ecology and Control of Infectious Diseases of the University of Kinshasa enrolled in the Master's programme.

Finally, at the end of this working visit on 03 March 2022, and as a prelude to International Women's Rights Day, the President of the FCRM held a scientific discussion with the women of the University of Kinshasa under the theme: "Women and science, challenges for our contribution to development". A forum that allowed all the women scientists present in the room to give feedback on their brilliant careers (successes, failures, etc.).

It was also an opportunity for the President of the FCRM to present the Women and Science programme initiated in 2014, but also to invite the participants to continue to advocate for a significant presence of women in science in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
