"WEMAN & SCIENCES" regional scholarship award ceremony - 2023-2024

After two national editions (2021 & 2022) of scholarships awarded to female Master's and PhD students, the first edition of the regional Femmes et Science scholarships took place on Friday March 29, 2024 at the Grand LANCASTER hotel in Brazzaville.

Under the theme: "WOMEN AT THE HEART OF KNOWLEDGE", this edition, mainly supported by the BAYER Foundation (Germany), supported two categories of women scientists: PhD students and Scientists & Mothers (women scientists holding a PhD) and having at least one child during their young career and participating in a research project in a Central African country.

Indeed, investing in women is not only a question of social justice, it's also an intelligent and strategic investment that benefits society as a whole.

Empowering women and promoting gender equality are, in fact, essential to building a more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable future for all.

A total of sixteen (16) scholarships were awarded to laureates from Cameroon, Gabon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic: eleven (11) scholarships for doctoral students; four (4) scholarships for scientists & mothers; and a special "Women & Science" scholarship for the Congolese diaspora.

This first edition of the "FEMMES & SCIENCES" regional scholarships was attended by numerous personalities, scientists, diplomats, decision-makers, students and their families, artists and friends of the FCRM.

The Congolese Foundation for Medical Research would like to thank all its partners and sponsors (UNESCO, FONDATION CONGO ASSISTANCE, LCB BANK, BIBACE BUSINESS, L'AGENCE NATIONALE DE VALORISATION DES RESULTATS DE LA RECHERCHE ET DE L'INNOVATION, ZIANA TV) for their support in making this event a success.
