The seventy-third session of the World Health Organization (WHO) took place in a hybrid format from 28 August to 01 September 2023 in Gaborone, Botswana, in the presence of African health ministers and government representatives.
During this annual meeting, the highest decision-making body of WHO Africa, various personalities were rewarded for their unprecedented commitment to improving people's health (political leaders, scientists, front-line health workers, and other stakeholders).
It was at this event that Professor Francine NTOUMI, Chair of Medical Research, received the trophy recognizing her as a "Public Health Champion" from the hands of the WHO Africa Regional Director, Dr Rebecca Natalie Moeti MATSHIDISO, in the presence of the President and Vice-President of the Republic of Botswana and all the Ministers of Health in the African region, in particular that of the Republic of Congo: Minister Gilbert MOKOKI, whom we thank for his many forms of support.
The PANDORA-ID-net and CANTAM research networks are honored to have their coordinator recognized at this continental event.
Congratulations once more Professor Francine NTOUMI, ahead ahead Champion! *
