The Central African Network of Excellence (CANTAM) held its second annual steering committee meeting on 3 and 4 May 2023 in Libreville, Gabon.

This second annual meeting provided an opportunity to assess progress on project deliverables and milestones and to discuss synergies with sister projects such as WISE (Strengthening Gender Capacity in Clinical Research within CANTAM Network), CAIDERA (Central African Infectious Disease and Epidemics Research Alliance), PaceUP (PAN ASEAN Coalition for Epidemic and Outbreak Preparedness) etc.

In the framework of experience sharing between networks of excellence, the TESA network (The Trials of Excellence for Southern Africa) took part in this event through the presence of its project Manager, Mr Rodrigues MATCHEVE.

The opportunity was also seized to strengthen the relationship with external partners who largely participated (face-to-face or virtual) in this meeting.
